Co-ordinating everyday errands

CARESCO Community Support - 07873 187843

Our team of volunteers are available to complete local errands for those in our community in and around Sawtry who need support to stay independent as well as helping those who are self isolating and need assistance with everyday errands.

Requests are arranged through the Co-ordinator and errands are fulfilled by volunteers. Tasks are accepted at the discretion of the team Co-ordinator and are dependent upon the availability of volunteers. The types of tasks undertaken include:

  • Essential shopping from local shops
  • Collecting and delivering prescriptions (from Boots, Sawtry)
  • Post office errands
  • Support phone calls

To request support, or to find out more, call the CARESCO Community Support Co-ordinator weekdays between 9 & 11am on: 07873 187843. Please leave a message and your number and they will get back to you.

There is no charge for this service, though donations to help cover costs are always welcome via the CARESCO Centre.

Our Community Support service has evolved out of the work done during the Covid-19 pandemic by our Sawtry Covid Response team of volunteers when people stepped up to support those in our community who were shielding or isolating by fulfilling local errands for them, in particular dropping off prescriptions from the Sawtry pharmacy, carrying out shopping locally and visiting the post office. Click here to see just what they achieved from the start of March 2020 through to the end of August 2021.
